BULLs Family,
Happy New Year to all. As we continue to prepare for the 2026 Spring baseball season, I wanted to bring everyone up to date.
After being elected president of Bridgeport-Upper Merion Little League (BULLs), I set out to improve the program in every fashion imaginable. My first order of business was to improve our communications. Since then, we have regained access to our underutilized social media accounts (Facebook & X), and have made strides managing our websites. Currently, we are seeking to reduce to a single website, eliminating cost and duties within our volunteer staff.
Our small group of volunteers have been hard at work, and it’s beginning to show! Increasing internal communication and accountability by meeting twice a month, we have captured new board members and volunteers. These volunteers have assisted with organizing our tool shed, joining forces during our fall fundraiser at Nor View farms, and even assisted me refurbishing our picnic tables. A review of our pitching machines by our Equipment Manager was completed, getting them back to 100%; giving us the ability to run a more efficient batting practice for the upcoming season.
Our field and clubhouse have also been a focal point. This fall, I was able to repair our scoreboard along with our PA system. We look forward to resurfacing our scoreboard, giving it a long overdue refresh. Efforts to improve field conditions have also been under way. After seeking an infield groomer and establishing it is out of our budget ($54k), we have devised a plan to bring our fields back to life. Our aging back stop also underwent review. Previously quoted over $11k we sought multiple new quotes. Unfortunately, our new lowest quote is over $21k. Alternate options are being reviewed.
Recruitment efforts have been underway going back to the end of November 2025. We have exceeded last year’s numbers to date, and talks of a possible expansion are in the works. We currently have over 20 registered players, and many more have established commitment via phone conversations. We encourage parents to register players at their earliest convenience, as uniforms require five weeks lead time. Uniforms are being reviewed for a possible new look while reducing cost.
Program commitment has been taken to new heights, demonstrated by a recent trip to Morgantown, West Virginia for a coaching clinic held by USA Baseball. This clinic discussed the importances of player development; “The Freebie War”, Creating a complete catcher, and even how to overcome the lack of technological training aids. Essentially, everything that could help our program become successful.
In order to achieve more of our capital improvement goals, our Treasurer and Fundraiser Director, John Williams, has been hard at work. From emails, phone calls and even going business to business, he’s managed to gather more than a few sponsors to contribute once more. However, we turn to all of you for assistance. We have established multiple ways to support our fundraising goals and also allow you to show your team spirit. As some of you may have noticed during the registration check out process, you’re led to our merchandise store. This is one of three ways to show your support. Our second form of support will keep you cozy at home or on the field during those cold spring games. Fundraising blankets have been created and are now available for pre-order purchase. Visit our social media for more details. The third option is our Zeffy account. The link is provided below and can be utilized by all. Our current goal is set for $20k for capital improvements listed above.

Understanding not everyone is in a position to donate, we encourage you to volunteer. Volunteers are the backbone of BU-LL and are needed in every capacity from helping in our snack stands, assisting with field maintenance, fundraising, and tournament coordination. There is always something to lend a hand with, even if you don’t know anything about baseball.
I thank you for your time and support in advance. I know together we can make a difference.
Respectfully,
Javier Pagan-Ramos
